In todays lesson first in the morning we was given separated to 2 group for creating new VT's and reviewing previous footage which we will use in the new project for our live music show. My group consist My self, Nabeel, Josh, Andy Greenland and each of us have to film 2 VT's. However, each of us have to create idea for our VT's which we will film in Lever Street and I start writing my ideas for the VT's which I will film and the ideas I wrote is in below.

                        VT idea

VT Idea 1 The first VT I will film will consist of the band walking towards to the college while having their musical instruments with them Then from the inside I will film the band while setting up the music equipment also I will do short a interview with the band and ask some general questions about music and musical instruments that they use. Moreover, I will have some GVs when they play the music. Questions: What kind of musical instruments do you usually play? How long did it take you to learn to play the instrument? What plan do you have for future to be professional musician? VT Idea 2 The second VT I will film will consist of the band when they’re inside they class room and having a lesson were the tutor gives them a new music task and they’re writing the notes about the new lyrics. Then the band walk out from the class toward to the studio and start doing the rehearsal. Moreover, I will have quick interview and ask the question about music and what they’re feeling when playing music. In addition if the VT idea 2 doesn’t work I will have a plan B for my second idea and it will be below. Questions: What do you think of the new lyrics you wrote today? How hard is it to write good music song? Regarding character in your view what should the singer and songwriter have? Plan B for Idea 2 Plan B for the second idea will consist of the band, which will be waiting in the reception area having musical instruments with them such as guitar etc. Then the band will walk toward to the studio and get on the stage and start to set the equipment which will be used during the performance or rehearsal. However, the interview or might be voice over will be included in to the VT but I’m looking to do voice over for this part of VT. Moreover, I will film as many GVs as I can to make sure I have enough footage. Questions: If there will be voice over in this VT then I wont need any questions to be asked but in case if there is no voice over I will have questions as a change of plan. Do you guys gigging a lot? In future would you like to be in band or solo artist? In few years time would you like to be like which singer / musician?

Furthermore in todays lesson we was given our roles by the tutor for the music show and each student will have one role for the rehearsal day and production day as well. The job roles is divided to two group which they will replace on between the show and the list of the nov roles are in below:

In todays lesson first we was given the check list that we had to review and make it clear about the VTs for News Room Operation. However, we was checking the list which include the identify requirements based on the brief to include the target audience, review paperwork requirements etc. Moreover, after checking all the mentioned list we was told by the tutor to set up the studio. As a group we started setting up the studio and it took about 30 minute to set up everything such as Cameras, tripod, tricaster etc. then after setting up all the equipment we wanted to use it we faced a big problem which all the cameras wasn't working and we couldn't receive any footage from all the cameras. Furthermore I took responsibilities of that and I took cameras one by one to the gallery room and tried them on the tricaster to find out if there is any problem with BNC or XLR wires but after testing all 3 cameras inside the gallery room I received clear footage from all 3 cameras. Overall I start working on the all BNCs wires and I exchanged these wires and after exchanging all the wires finally we got all 3 cameras work properly. However it tools long time till I could sort the problem we had due to the BNCs wires so for that reason we did not had time to do some rehearsal for the News Room Operation. So therefore in the end of the day we de-rig all the equipment.

Diary

In today lesson we was given a quick session of how to use new talk backs we have, which the session was given by (Colin) the new talk backs are wireless and can be used in far distance, which will help us to communicate much better than other talk backs which we had lot of problems in previous module with connecting wires and some of old talk backs wasn't working properly. In my view this new talk backs will help us a lot to sort the problems out easily. Also the good thing about the new talk backs is that it can be used without connecting the wires and it will help to prevent any risk of tripping on the cables and wires. Moreover the only criticism about this new talk backs is when one person talk then other people cant talk and have to wait till the first person to finish conversation then they can start to talk, or if 2 people in the same time press the button to talk then none of them can talk due to the noise will come through the headphone. Moreover in today lesson each individual students had to present their own ideas for music show which will be broadcasted in Manchester College Fielden Campus in May. During the morning time I was preparing for my presentation more and made everything ready to pitch it. However after lunch break we started pitching  on our presentation one by one and I was the Fourth person to pitch my presentation, during the presentation I think I done quite well and I think I was confident and relaxed. Moreover I think today was a great day and there was quite few good Ideas. From all the presentation presented today, only one will be chosen. Which will be decided either by tutor or students, I think we will make a great music show this time. Here is my presentation which I have created on prezi and I would like to share it here.

In today's lesson we reviewed all the essay again and I wrote my story structure for my VTs and I finished it properly. Also in today's lesson we was told by the tutor to make our VTs ready for next week and it should be filmed and edited ready to be mixed with other VTs which will be used for 30 minute news show. However my VT is already done and edited and I confirmed my VT. Moreover I spend most of my time editing and putting more GVs on my edited VT. Overall we was told by the tutor that next week is draft submission for the first assignment and I am hoping to make everything ready for next week and submit my finished work.
